About the Role
The Server is responsible for serving guests in an assigned station by providing courteous and efficient service that meets or exceeds guests’ dining expectations.
Responsibilities
- Supports a strong commitment to world-class guest service and ensures a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience for restaurant patrons.
- Completes training requirements and follows service standards as trained.
- Greets guests promptly and courteously in assigned workstation.
- Understands and executes established procedures for verifying guests’ ability to legally purchase and consume alcohol and knows how to prevent a guest from overindulging.
- Learns all menus and can communicate all food and beverage offerings.
- Effectively uses suggestive selling techniques.
- Records food and beverage orders, enters orders into computer system, monitors status of order preparation, and safely transports orders from kitchen to guest.
- Monitors and addresses guest needs during the meal.
- Collects monies owed for food and beverages and properly performs all guest check accountability procedures.
- Performs tip declaration activities and compensates indirectly tipped associates (e.g., Bussers, Bartenders, Runners) as per established service procedures.
- Performs daily cleaning activities.
- Performs food running and station set-up/break-down responsibilities as assigned.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience in and passion for consumer service.
- Willingness to learn new skills and be a team player.
- An attitude of flexibility and mindfulness about the team approach.
- Ability to learn all menus and communicate all food and beverage offerings.
- Ability to maintain clean and clear service areas.
- Follows proper procedures as disclosed in Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ability to memorize and become knowledgeable of menu items.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly walks and stands.
- Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.
Pay
Starting pay rate: $2.13 - $250.00 per hour.
