About the role
Hillcrest Health & Rehab is looking for a friendly, dependable, and service-focused Server to join our dining team. Hillcrest Health & Rehab provides skilled nursing and post-acute rehabilitation in a supportive environment focused on helping guests recover, regain independence, and enjoy a positive experience throughout their stay. Responsibilities
- Greet guests and residents warmly and provide friendly, attentive meal service.
- Take and communicate meal and beverage orders accurately.
- Serve meals and beverages according to individual preferences and established dining procedures.
- Follow prescribed diets, food textures, allergies, and other individualized dining needs as directed.
- Assist guests and residents with meal selections and respond to dining requests.
- Prepare and deliver room trays when needed.
- Set up dining areas before meals and clean and reset tables following service.
- Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming dining areas.
- Assist with dishes, dishwashing, and other kitchen or dining-room responsibilities as needed.
- Sweep, mop, and help maintain clean food-service areas.
- Stock dining areas and maintain appropriate supply levels.
- Complete required food temperature and safety documentation.
- Properly date, label, store, and rotate food items according to established procedures.
- Assist with linens, trash removal, silverware preparation, and other dining-service needs.
- Communicate guest and resident preferences, concerns, or changes to the appropriate team member.
- Build positive relationships through friendly conversation and dependable service.
- Work collaboratively with culinary and community team members to keep meal service running smoothly.
- Assist with special meals, celebrations, events, and additional dining needs as assigned.
Requirements
- A friendly, welcoming, and service-focused personality.
- Previous restaurant, senior living, hospitality, food service, or customer-service experience preferred.
- A genuine interest in working with aging adults.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide courteous and professional service to guests, residents, families, and visitors.
- Strong attention to detail with dining preferences and dietary needs.
- Dependability and consistent follow-through.
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities during busy meal periods.
- A positive and flexible approach when guest or resident needs change.
- Strong teamwork and willingness to help wherever needed.
- Ability to follow food-safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced dining environment while maintaining excellent service.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous dining, food service, restaurant, hospitality, senior living, or customer-service experience preferred.
- Experience working with aging adults is helpful but not required.

Physical & Other Requirements
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
- Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds.
- Must be able to perform repetitive standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and movement throughout the shift.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced dining environment with strong attention to detail.
- Must be flexible, calm, and professional when responding to guest, resident, family, or visitor needs.
- Must be able to follow established food-safety, sanitation, infection-control, and chemical-handling procedures.
- Must be able to utilize technology and available resources efficiently and effectively.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
