Responsibilities

• Support the philosophy and objectives of the facility.
• Follow all dietary procedures in accordance with established policies.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with inter-department personnel.
• Create and maintain a warm, personal, and positive atmosphere.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings.
• Serve meals that are palatable, appetizing, and portion-controlled according to the menu.
• Serve meals restaurant-style.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, including work tables, refrigerators, freezers, wait stations, and equipment.
• Sweep and mop floors as directed.
• Maintain clean, dry, and hazard-free work areas.
• Set up meal trays, food carts, and dining rooms as instructed.
• Portion salads and desserts; may assist cook in preparing meals.
• Operate dishwasher and ensure utensils are ready for the next meal.
• Prepare beverages and snacks for the café.
• Clean and maintain stock items in the café.
• Follow safety regulations, infection control, and universal precautions.
• Report hazardous conditions or equipment immediately.
• Report accidents or incidents as established by department policies.
• Ensure food and supplies for the next meal are readily available; assist in storing incoming supplies.
• Attend all required in-services and follow department and facility policies, including the use of personal protective equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident care and employee information; follow HIPAA and HIV regulations.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
• Occasional: Crouching, kneeling, repetitive motion, standing, stooping, typing/clerical/dexterity.
• Frequent: Grasping, hearing, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, seeing/monitor/computer use, talking, visual acuity, walking.

Hazards

• Occasional exposure to bodily fluids/bloodborne pathogens, burns, and chemicals.

Working Conditions

• Occasional exposure to odors.
• No travel required.

Pay

Salary is based on qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and industry standards.

Pay Range: USD $16.12/Hr. – $17.16/Hr.
