About the Role

A Server plays a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing professional and efficient food and beverage service during events. Their primary function is to ensure all guests feel welcomed and attended to, following event specifications and service standards. Servers work collaboratively with kitchen and event staff to ensure the timely delivery of courses, adapt to guest needs in real time, and uphold the ambiance and quality of the event. They also contribute to the overall success of events by maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the service.

About The Venue

The Clovis Civic Center is in Clovis, New Mexico. The 35,000-square-foot space includes a ballroom, meeting rooms, and a plaza, specializing in banquets and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Help set the tables
• Clean and arrange work stations, chairs, and table pieces
• Set up drink stations
• Preset butter, salads, dressings, and desserts
• Serve meals to customers or direct customers to buffets
• Refill all drinks and beverages
• Refill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, and condiment containers
• Observe customers to determine if anything else is needed
• Determine when the meal and beverages have been finished
• Remove and replace table linens and service settings as required
• Remove dishes and glasses from tables and take them to the kitchen or bus station
• Clean server alley and event room
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• Work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants is preferred but not required
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to provide excellent friendly service to all patrons
• Must ensure all details of the job are performed and work is accurate
• Must be able to multitask
• Ability to handle and move objects
• Must be able to lift heavy trays
• Must have strong communication skills
• Availability to work nights and weekends

Pay

This role pays an hourly rate of $12.00.
