General Summary
The Server/Nutrition Services Diet Aide is responsible for meal tray set-up and the preparation/portioning of therapeutic diets for the skilled nursing tray line in accordance with physician orders and posted therapeutic diet menus. Assists with the set-up of the assisted living restaurant style dining room prior to meal service and takes resident meal orders in a courteous manner.
Principle Duties
- Completes pre and post-meal time checklists for skilled nursing trayline and assisted living dining services.
- Prepares meal trays for skilled nursing trayline and achieves competency in understanding of therapeutic diets.
- Checks meal trays are delivered in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus.
- Takes assisted living resident orders graciously and courteously, listens with patience.
- Clears dishes from dining room tables, before, during and after meal service.
- Assists with the preparation and portioning of nourishments, snacks, salads and desserts.
- Sets up tables in the health center dining rooms and breaks down same after meal.
- Transports hot and cold foods to and from the kitchen. Transports all required non-food items to and from the kitchen.
- Maintains station equipment and work area in safe and sanitary conditions per manufacturer guidelines.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
- Follows proper food handling techniques and coordinates the use of time, material and equipment to avoid waste and unnecessary expense.
- Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

- Ability to interpret standardized recipes, instructions, specifications and standards.
- Ability to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards.
Qualifications
- Likely to be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Strong desire to work with and have empathy for the elderly.

Pay

Schedule
3:30PM-7PM, weekends required.
