Server (Oyster Bar)

About the Role

The Oyster Bar Server will serve the bar and surrounding tables, providing friendly and efficient food and beverage service to all guests in the Oyster Bar. Responsibilities

• Report to the station as scheduled in proper uniform and ready to work.
• Complete all side work as directed by the supervisor.
• Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Take orders from guests and servers.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, as well as some beer and wine knowledge.
• Inspect cleanliness and condition of assigned stations and associated public spaces, and rectify any deficiencies.
• Continuously maintain cleanliness and organization of bars, bottle displays, coolers, and station equipment.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required, or currently enrolled and successfully completing a GED program within six (6) months from the start date as a condition of continued employment.
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
• One (1) year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or six (6) months of experience within the Beverage Department at WCH.
• Willingness and ability to lift and maneuver a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
• Must successfully pass a job interview, including a guest service audition.
• Must successfully complete Responsible Vendor Alcoholic Beverage Service and BASSET training.
• Must complete ServeSafe Sanitation training.
• Minimum bartending skills.
• Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required.
• Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board.

Pay

Base pay compensation: $9.00–$13.00 per hour, with starting pay based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and skills.
