About the Role
The Oyster Bar Server will serve the bar and surrounding tables, providing friendly and efficient food and beverage service to all guests in the Oyster Bar. Responsibilities
- Report to the station as scheduled in proper uniform and ready to work.
- Complete all side work as directed by the supervisor.
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take orders from guests and servers.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, as well as some beer and wine knowledge.
- Inspect cleanliness and condition of assigned stations and associated public spaces, and rectify any deficiencies.
- Continuously maintain cleanliness and organization of bars, bottle displays, coolers, and station equipment.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required, or currently enrolled and successfully completing a GED program within six (6) months from the start date as a condition of continued employment.
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
- One (1) year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or six (6) months of experience within the Beverage Department at WCH.
- Willingness and ability to lift and maneuver a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
- Must successfully pass a job interview, including a guest service audition.
- Must successfully complete Responsible Vendor Alcoholic Beverage Service and BASSET training.
- Must complete ServeSafe Sanitation training.
- Minimum bartending skills.
- Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required.
- Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board.
Pay
Base pay compensation: $9.00–$13.00 per hour, with starting pay based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and skills.
