Server - Little Beach House
About the role
A Part Time Server at Soho House is responsible for understanding, discussing, and educating members and guests about all menu items and associated allergies, while delivering an approachable and elevated experience in line with Soho House Service Standards. The Server ensures service success and guest satisfaction, collaborates with team members, completes pre- and post-service duties, accurately enters orders into the POS system, and remains attentive to additional member or guest requests. A successful Server maintains a positive attitude, is detail-oriented, process-driven, and flexible under pressure to ensure seamless communication between Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) staff.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with coworkers and management, and complete checklists for all trained processes learned in Club School.
- Positively influence members' and guests' experiences by elevating the dining experience with food and drink pairing options, discussing specials, and driving sales through consistent, approachable communication and the highest level of service in accordance with Soho House Standards.
- Maintain communication with Management and the Executive Chef regarding allergies or potential risks encountered during service to mitigate forecasted issues.
- Complete all checkout reports at the end of each shift, ensuring they are double-checked and signed by management.
- Adhere to health and safety policies, as well as all Company policies, procedures, standards, and local, state, and federal laws.
- Ensure food orders are plated and coursed correctly before serving to members and guests.
- Assist runners and bussers with expo and service bar tickets to support all table orders.
- Clean and stock the server alley and bar area, and polish silverware, plates, and/or glassware as needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the menu and provide suggestions when requested by members or guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar capacity.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and maintain composure while problem-solving under pressure.
- Hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service, and respectful toward colleagues and guests.
- Ability to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Ability to take direction, work in a team environment, and work autonomously.
- Tips certified with POS knowledge.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
- Capability to make fast-paced movements across the property.
- Ability to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 20 pounds.
- Occasional kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, cleaning, and stooping.
- Capability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift, reach, push, twist, walk, crouch, and squat.

Pay
In accordance with California law, the pay range for this role if filled within California is $18.47—$18.47 USD. The range for other geographies may vary based on market differences. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
