Pay

$12.15 per hour + gratuities.

About the Role

The Server provides prompt and courteous food and beverage service to guests in the restaurant, bar, and patio. This position reports to the Food & Beverage Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and serve guests in an energetic and friendly manner.
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere and provide excellent hospitality by understanding the resort facility and dining area.
  • Respond to guest questions about the menu and promote other resort services.
  • Write and relay food orders to the kitchen and beverage orders to the bartender.
  • Serve food and beverages, clear tables, and follow service etiquette and facility procedures.
  • Engage with guests throughout the dining experience to ensure needs are met.
  • Work as part of a team, following direction from the Lead Server or Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Report potential safety issues or customer concerns to a supervisor.
  • Check identification to ensure legal age for alcohol purchases.
  • Handle cash and card transactions accurately, including providing correct change.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to three months of related server experience preferred.
  • Must meet state and federal minimum age requirements for serving alcohol.
  • Current Food Handlers Card and TIPS® Certification (Training for Intervention Procedures).
  • Ability to understand and implement dining standards.
  • Basic math skills for calculating discounts and percentages.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a productive work environment.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and team members.
  • Attention to detail and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in an indoor restaurant setting but may also work on patios or at outdoor events, with exposure to weather conditions and occasional native wildlife. The noise level can be loud. Outdoor work may involve walking on variable terrain while carrying items and navigating obstacles like groups of people, table setups, and decorations.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to see, speak, and hear.
  • Frequent standing and walking for most of a work shift.
  • Ability to lift, balance, and carry trays weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and serving from trays.
  • Frequent hand washing.
  • Must be able to read menus, take orders, review bills, and navigate busy work areas.
  • Must speak clearly and understand others, sometimes in a noisy environment.
