Position Functions
- Takes elder meal orders.
- Serves meals in a courteous and timely manner.
- Pours and serves beverages.
- Washes dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen items used during assigned shifts.
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Busses tables after each meal.
- Keeps the serving counter clean and organized at all times.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Dietary Director.
Physical Requirements
- Physical stamina is required for bending, lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed indoors in well-lighted and ventilated surroundings.
- This position requires standing and walking for the majority of the shift, with intermittent sitting.
- Employees may be exposed to: Minor cuts and burns from kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals, Sprains or strains from lifting food items or equipment, Wet or slippery floors.
- Employees must be knowledgeable of and follow all safety procedures to prevent injury to themselves and others.
- Employees must also follow all infection control procedures and universal precautions.
Licenses/Certifications
- Serve Safe/Clean or Level II Food Handler Permit preferred or required per facility policy.
Training and Experience
- Must be at least 15 years of age.
- Previous food service experience preferred, but not required.
Uniform Requirements
Uniforms must comply with The Waterford’s dress code and uniform policies. Employees are expected to follow all requirements outlined in the Employee Handbook and perform duties as assigned by the Dietary Director.
