About the Role

Staff members in the Server position play a critical role in the Museum's delivery of a world-class guest experience by presenting and serving the Museum's beverage offerings in accordance with menu standards. Servers also welcome guests entering the Speakeasy exhibit space and report to the Museum's Food and Beverage Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and interact with all speakeasy guests in accordance with venue guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient bar and work station.
  • Receive guests' orders and deliver all beverage menu items according to recipe standards in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Health Department standards.
  • Contribute to ensuring the highest quality food and beverage service while striving for total guest satisfaction and a world-class guest experience.
  • Assist in operating a clean, organized, and well-stocked venue.
  • Interact with guests in an appropriate and professional manner.
  • Maintain venue sanitation according to state and local health regulations.
  • Clean, sanitize, organize, and restock all service areas as needed.
  • Suggestively upsell menu items to guests.
  • Consistently and accurately perform all financial transactions in accordance with Museum policies.
  • Maintain a courteous, professional, and friendly manner with fellow employees, volunteers, and guests.
  • Ensure no underage guests are served alcohol, check IDs, and ensure operations of the Speakeasy comply with the Museum's licensing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a fast-paced food and beverage position.
  • Basic understanding of spirits, wine, beer, and cocktails.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proper food and beverage safety, sanitation procedures, and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
  • Ability to work closing shifts and evenings as needed.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 9 hours).
  • Must possess all required work cards, including a Southern Nevada Health District Food Handlers Card.
