Ember & Oak is a new chef-driven restaurant and event space opening at Katy Golf Club in Parsons, Kansas in Fall of 2026. We are building a scratch kitchen rooted in local sourcing, real technique, and genuine hospitality in an upscale, casual setting. Our goal is to source as locally as possible, supporting farms, ranches, and producers in SE Kansas. We make as much as we can using traditional cooking methods. Every plate is made with intention. We seat 175 in a full-service dining room and event space, with a full bar program and year-round golf tournament and banquet catering.

About the role

As a Server at Ember & Oak, you will provide exceptional guest service while delivering a welcoming and positive dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, attentive service throughout their dining experience.
• Accurately take food and beverage orders and communicate them to the kitchen and bar.
• Demonstrate knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and available beverages.
• Answer guest questions and make appropriate recommendations when requested.
• Deliver food and beverages accurately and in a timely manner.
• Monitor guest needs and provide attentive service at all times.
• Process guest payments accurately and responsibly.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked service areas.
• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and restaurant policies.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, management, hosts/hostesses, bartenders, and other team members.
• Address guest concerns professionally and notify management when additional assistance is needed.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and other restaurant duties as assigned.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing Ember & Oak.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous restaurant, serving, hospitality, or customer-service experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide professional and courteous customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple orders and responsibilities accurately.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely carry food, beverages, and service items.
• Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Must meet all applicable legal requirements for serving alcoholic beverages, if applicable to the position.
