Responsibilities
- Maintains a positive attendance record by reporting to work for assigned shifts 10 minutes prior to scheduled time, switching and finding replacements for no more than 5% of scheduled shifts, following company time off and illness procedures, and having a 0% no call/no show record.
- Follows all sanitation and safety standards set forth by the company.
- Maintains our guest service philosophy by following guest service standards.
- Knows all menu items offered at the restaurant.
- Accurately explains specials to guests.
- If asked, accurately answers menu items in regard to preparation method, ingredients, portion size, and side items accompanying the dish.
- If asked, specify substitutions for items on the menu.
- Observes table numbering procedures and works assigned section 100% of the time.
- Congratulates guests upon their departure.
- Takes orders if time permits, or informs guests that he or she will return within 3 minutes to assist them.
- Suggests items and upsells when appropriate.
- Takes beverage and food orders accurately for all tables.
- Has less than 2% return of food to kitchen due to order mistakes.
- Legibly completes guest checks and accurately enters orders into the POS system following company procedures with 100% accuracy.
- Picks up orders and completes plate preparation correctly as specified by company plating procedures.
- Performs check-back procedures with tables within 2 minutes of receiving appetizers, main course, and dessert course.
- Totals and presents checks and carries out payment procedures with 100% accuracy.
- Performs side-work duties correctly as specified.
- Follows all end-of-shift checkout procedures with 100% accuracy.
- Fulfills alcohol serving procedures in regard to beverage service standards, awareness standards, and government regulations with 100% accuracy.
- Busses, sets, and resets tables following company procedures within 3 minutes of guests leaving their tables.
- Assists other team members with their station duties and side-work when there is a need and/or when available.
- Follows tip reporting regulations 100% of the time by keeping track of daily tips and following reporting procedures outlined by the Internal Revenue Service.
Qualifications
- Must be able to read and communicate in English clearly and effectively.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds repeatedly, throughout the shift.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for the duration of a scheduled shift.
- Must be able to lift, stoop, and bend.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Must be able to work well with others.
- Must demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Must be efficient and accurate with money and figures.
- Must possess manual ability to manipulate the register system and handle/serve food.
- Must be able to pass food safety training.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
