Responsibilities
- Greet guests and residents warmly
- Take accurate food orders by following appropriate procedures
- Demonstrate understanding of menu items and ingredients
- Advise on appropriate food and drink combinations and accommodate reasonable requests and preferences
- Communicate with back-of-house staff to ensure correct delivery of orders and accommodation of special requests
- Deliver food to residents and guests, maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- Follow up with residents and guests to ensure a satisfactory dining experience
- Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information or complaints to supervisor
- Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
- Operate kitchen equipment and machines to prepare and serve food and beverages
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, and silverware
- Portion, wrap, and store food in designated containers and storage areas
- Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers
- Sweep and mop dining and kitchen areas
- Scrape leftovers from dishes into garbage containers
- Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed
- Provide cooks with needed items
- Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities
- Follow established policies and procedures including Presbyterian Villages policies and procedures, safety policies, and federal, state, and local regulations
Requirements
- High School Graduate, General Education Degree (GED), or currently enrolled in a program if under 18 years old
- Must be able to operate a computer
- ServSafe/Food Safety certification preferred, will train for certification and must pass to maintain this position
