Responsibilities
- Report to work well-groomed, in clean uniform, and practice good personal hygiene
- Greet all guests in a kind, courteous, and respectable manner
- Handle cash, credit cards, gift cards, and guest-check payments accurately
- Take verbal drink and meal orders according to guest preferences
- Serve high-quality food and verify orders are complete, correctly prepared, portioned, and attractive
- Monitor and oversee food temperatures during hot and cold handling to reduce food-borne illness risks
- Maintain cleanliness of work station and pantry
- Perform side work during downtime (e.g., rolling silverware, restocking condiments, cleaning work areas)
- Execute the service cycle and team responsibilities consistently
- Demonstrate sufficient menu knowledge to suggestively sell items to guests
- Write guest checks and operate POS equipment according to company policies
- Anticipate, identify, and correct system breakdowns to maximize guest satisfaction
- Communicate product/service deficiencies, equipment issues, and safety problems to managers and coworkers
Requirements
- Basic skills in sanitation, safety, and customer service (taught through in-house training)
- Trustworthy; able to handle guest-check payments and operate a cash register
- Clear communication skills
Physical Requirements
- High level of mobility and flexibility
- Able to work irregular hours under heavy stress during peak times
- High level of coordination
- Must lift and carry serving trays up to 20 pounds for distances up to 30 feet
- Able to fit through a 30-inch-wide opening
- Frequent reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling
- Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold, and odors
- Continual standing and walking
