Responsibilities
- Check floors, chairs, and tables for cleanliness and proper set-up before service.
- Ensure service stations are organized, properly set, and well stocked.
- Complete side work before service starts.
- Warmly receive members and guests; assist in seating when appropriate.
- Pre-meal with chef for specials, limited items, or unavailable items; explain same to members and guests.
- Take food, cocktail, and wine orders in the prescribed manner; organize orders when waiting on several tables at once while speaking clearly and professionally.
- Answer questions about the menu, event, and company.
- Pick up correct orders in a timely manner, ensuring all necessary condiments, sauces, silverware, and glassware are included.
- Enter orders in Jonas POS with any requested details.
- Submit orders to the kitchen or bartender, communicating special instructions, dietary needs, and allergies immediately.
- Serve meals in the prescribed manner, ensuring correct presentation and quality; inform guests of delays as needed.
- Check in with members and guests to ensure satisfaction with each course and beverage.
- Clear tables of unneeded items and crumb tables after every meal course.
- Present and describe nightly desserts and recommend after-dinner drinks.
- Total all checks, explaining all food, drink, and miscellaneous items.
- Thank members and guests after meals and wish them well as they leave.
- Break down and set up the dining room for the next dinner service or event as directed by managers.
- Organize and review all checks for correct accounting procedures, including sequential order, POS accuracy, and end-of-shift reports.
- Present checks to manager for final review with any corrections.
- Report any comments, positive or negative, to the supervisor; allow managers to address negative feedback.
- Perform closing side work and other duties as assigned by managers.
- Follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report accidents or unsafe conditions and complete required training.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality and protect company assets.
- Engage in team building by developing positive working relationships, supporting coworkers, and addressing concerns appropriately.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Previous experience in fine dining (two or more years preferred).
- Experience with full formal banquets and golf tournaments (preferred).
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer (preferred).
- Experience using POS systems such as Jonas, Micros, or Hulu (preferred).
- Food Handlers Certification (preferred but not required).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform tasks involving balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions for long periods.
- Ability to walk on slippery conditions, up and down stairs, and service ramps.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to move furniture.
- Must be able to work in hot conditions for extended periods.
- Must be physically able to perform all assigned duties as outlined.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
This position is "at will," and the employee may be required to perform additional duties as requested by the supervisor.
