Responsibilities

• Taking food and drink orders
• Serving food and drinks properly
• Ensuring all payments are collected
• Greeting guests and presenting menus
• Engaging and creating a positive experience for guests
• Answering questions and conveying special instructions to the kitchen and bar
• Maintaining knowledge of the menu and all specials
• Correcting any problems with tables
• Preparing and delivering checks
• Collecting and handling payments
• Cooperating and communicating with all serving and kitchen staff
• Adhering to health department rules and customer service guidelines
• Maintaining a clean, healthy, and safe working area
• Supporting other staff to ensure guest satisfaction
• Handling guest complaints and solving problems to the degree possible

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of server and customer service experience required, preferably in the hospitality industry
• Ability to interpret instructions and communicate effectively in English
• Knowledge of reservation and POS systems
• Ability to work with computers and good knowledge of operating software
• Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented
• Team player mentality
