About the Role

A Gator’s Dockside Server is responsible for all facets of the guest experience from the time they enter the restaurant until they leave. Servers must read and understand all training materials and utilize those guidelines to perfect the guest’s experience while retaining a current food safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly, timely manner with a smile.
• Present the restaurant’s food menu, promotions, and specials to every guest in a friendly manner.
• Take and input guest orders accurately into the kitchen via computer systems.
• Ensure the accuracy of each order delivered to tables and correct any mistakes promptly.
• Interact with management and all hourly employees in a friendly and professional manner.
• Train new servers and assist with training other support staff members.
• Complete assigned side-work duties.
• Handle cash, credit cards, traveler’s checks, and loose change accurately and dependably.
• Pay all money owed to the restaurant at the end of each shift and declare all tips earned.
• Report any guest complaints or potential problems to the manager on duty immediately and attempt to resolve them.
• Prepare drinks and desserts, serve food, bus and pre-bus tables, and maintain all common work areas.
• Assist with food preparation or dishwashing as directed by management.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook and training materials.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of personal appearance and all common areas, including restrooms, dining and kitchen floors, walls, shelving, sidewalks, windows, doors, games, ice and soda machines, drink stations, carpets, tables, chairs, and cabinets.
