Essential Functions
- Knowledge of Daily and Anytime Menu items and can provide a general description to the residents and guests.
- Aids residents with menu selections and responds to pertinent questions about menu items.
- Responsible for taking meal and beverage orders and serving requested items according to established guidelines.
- Responds to the dining needs of the residents and guests while maintaining Thrive hospitality and service standards.
- Attends pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of the meal and meal support activities.
- Follows all local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling.
- Maintains standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health.
- Maintains assigned tables and the surrounding area in a complete state of cleanliness, appearance, and readiness.
- Performs dining room set-up and reset of tables in accordance with dining room procedures.
- Sustains dining room decorum and etiquette standards.
- Completes daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning assignments.
- Maintains all work areas in a healthful and safe condition.
- Assists in the dining room and surrounding areas for proper directional flow, organization, and supplies placement.
- Partners with the community team to ensure the community is in compliance with OSHA requirements, and promote Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations.
- Practices safety procedures at all times, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), and Lockout Tagout procedures.
- Actively participates as a member of a team and is committed to working toward team goals.
- Demonstrates in daily interactions with others, our Team Member Credo.
Education
A minimum educational background of a High School diploma or GED is required. A current CPR certification is preferred.
Experience
A preference for previous experience in dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living is preferred.
Physical Strength
Frequent body movements include lifting, moving, transferring, bending (static forward bending), stooping/squatting, and reaching. Able to do heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted with twisting and turning of trunk. Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
