Responsibilities
- Takes food and beverage orders, retrieves and serves food & beverages according to service standards.
- Courteously and efficiently serves residents and guests.
- Collects payments when necessary.
- Assists in maintaining the appearance and equipment of the restaurant area.
- Provides high-level customer service at all times.
- Anticipates and responds promptly to residents’ needs.
- Maintains knowledge of restaurant operations, dress code, and state liquor regulations.
- Serves meals and beverages as requested.
- Maintains knowledge of and strictly abides by state liquor regulations.
- Adheres to Quality Enhancement standards and standard food safety practices.
- Reviews daily menu with residents.
- Maintains knowledge of Toast and/or POS system as well as manual systems.
- Takes and delivers accurate meal orders to residents and guests.
- Removes used or soiled plates, utensils, glasses, linen from the dining room as needed.
- Cleans and resets tables immediately after residents and guests depart.
- Maintains knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation methods, ingredients, and quality standards.
- Assists with preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals.
- Adheres to payment, cash handling, and credit policies/procedures.
- Processes payments through the POS.
- Accommodates new residents with menus, seating, and dining options and hours.
- Cleans and sanitizes carpet, tables, chairs, condiment containers, and equipment used in the dining room.
- Completes side duties as assigned: cleanliness, quality, and amount of all restaurant stock and supplies using a checklist.
- Creates a strong sense of teamwork and cooperation among all staff.
Requirements
- Two (2) to three (3) years of experience as a server, preferably in Fine Dining.
- Food handling certificate where applicable.
- Certificate in alcoholic awareness program where applicable.
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Able to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and/or employees.
- Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages and 21 to pour.
