About the role

At Collared Martin Hospitality, the Restaurant Server plays a crucial part in ensuring our customers receive prompt, seamless service and excellent communication with the kitchen team. This role requires being knowledgeable about menu items, attentive, and focused in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Great conversational skills and teamwork-oriented
• Positive outlook and outgoing personality
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
• Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
• Stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time
• Welcome guests and promptly attend to tables
• Serve food and beverages to guests making recommendations if needed
• Alert management to any and all issues that arise at a table
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all service areas
• Properly mark all tables for each course before delivery of food to the table
• Clear each course promptly using clearing guidelines outlined in the sequence of service
• Continuously review menu items, and keep up-to-date with all changes
• Alert chef to all allergies

Requirements

• Follow all responsible alcohol practices
• Card all guests who appear under the age of 40 and never serve alcohol to an intoxicated guest
• Ability to lift up to 20lbs and stand up to 8 hours per shift
• Basic understanding of the English language (written and verbal)
• Excellent communication skills
• Master of time management
• Intimate knowledge of all food and beverage menu items, including full ingredient descriptions and all associated food allergies
• ServSafe Alcohol and Food Allergen or equivalent certification required
