Responsibilities
- Pre-setting tables in assigned area and following serving and cleaning procedures as outlined
- Be familiar with the menu for the day with special regard to chef specials
- Be courteous to residents and their guests
- Responsible for obtaining and maintaining proper training and certification as required by the state for alcohol service
- Remembers resident names and is alert to the likes and dislikes of residents when serving food and making the Dining Leads promptly aware of any problems
- Attends in-service training sessions with co-workers to keep abreast of current knowledge in the field
- Maintains a working knowledge of Therapeutic Diets, Allergy Precautions, and ServSafe Food Handlers Guidelines
- Reports damaged or broken items to the FOH Lead
- Performs other specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors
- Has flexible schedule/availability in order to cover shifts from 6 am to 7 pm as needed, as well as weekends, holidays, and natural disasters
Qualifications
- A high school graduate
- A minimum of three years experience in the food industry (preferably with both front and back of house experience)
- Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with and be tolerant of residents, guests, peers, subordinates, other department staff and supervisors
