About the role

This role plays a vital part in creating safe, enjoyable meals that support health, dignity, and quality of life for residents at Western Hills Retirement Village.

Responsibilities

• Support meal preparation, setup, service, and cleanup to ensure residents receive timely, appetizing meals in appropriate portions.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary dining environment by following all infection control, safety, sanitation, and HIPAA standards.
• Assist residents with menu selections and contribute to a calm, supportive, and compassionate dining experience.
• Communicate positively with residents, families, and team members, participate in required training, and support team needs as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of a 10th grade education with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work independently, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods; lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs; and perform routine movements throughout the shift.
• Emotional resilience and compassion to remain calm and supportive while working with elderly residents in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills.
