About the Role

The Applebee’s Server delights guests by exceeding expectations, serving food and beverages, and accommodating guest needs in a courteous and timely manner while following Applebee’s Basic Service Steps and the Service Promise. The Server fosters a culture aligned with the TSFR Roadmap, including Our Core Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Core Values.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests and interacts with every guest to create a friendly, upbeat work environment
• Familiarizes guests with the menu and makes appropriate suggestions when requested
• Takes guests' orders and inputs them correctly in the POS using the write, repeat, and review rule
• Serves food and beverages using the Applebee’s TEAM delivery system
• Pre-busses tables and sweeps the surrounding area to keep it clean and comfortable
• Collects payment from customers in a timely manner using the QR code or POS
• Completes daily cleaning work tasks and maintains a clean and safe working environment
• Anticipates guests' needs to facilitate an enjoyable dining experience

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to exceed guests’ expectations
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good attitude toward teamwork and a strong work ethic with a willingness to take initiative
• Confident, outgoing demeanor
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to be mobile for a minimum of 4 hours, bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 pounds
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations with limited standardization
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Physical and Mental Demands

• Frequently required to sit, talk, hear, walk, use hands and fingers to handle objects, and reach with hands and arms
• May occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds
• Requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus
• Must work in a team environment and handle a fast-paced setting
• Must be flexible and willing to accept change
• Must have the ability to communicate with others, both verbally and in writing

Work Environment

On occasion, it may be necessary to travel in an automobile to other locations, either alone or accompanied by a co-worker.
