Server Assistant - Hilton - Harrisburg, PA

About the role

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking a Server Assistant for the Hilton in Harrisburg, PA. Positions available on a 5-hour shift schedule from 5pm to 10pm.

Responsibilities

• Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare tables for resetting.
• Promptly and consistently reset all serviceware as prescribed.
• Assist in the stocking of server stations.
• Aid servers with food and beverage service to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
• Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
• Fold napkins for all meal periods throughout the day to maintain an adequate supply.
• Perform assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking sidestands in assistance to the food servers.
• Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills, answering telephones, taking room service orders, handling special guest requests, helping to maintain and organize buffet, greeting and seating guests, and ensuring guest satisfaction according to Hilton guidelines.

Requirements

• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and serviceware.
• Ability to understand and communicate English to comprehend and respond to basic guest requests.
• Ability to grasp, lift, and/or carry, or otherwise transport up to 50 lbs. through a crowded room.
• Ability to move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 200 lbs.
