About the role

The Server Assistant (SA) oversees table maintenance, maintains service flow, and assists servers in the dining room. Key responsibilities include delivering food, describing dishes, performing tableside service, monitoring guest satisfaction, and assisting the kitchen in expediting the service process.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains clean and organized workstations
  • Recognizes or seeks areas for staff and restaurant improvement
  • Operates efficiently and respectfully within the restaurant
  • Understands and complies with all relevant health, safety, and labor regulations
  • Busses used items and removes trash
  • Assists the bar with ice delivery
  • Welcomes guests and ensures responsive, professional, and gracious service
  • Describes dinner features and answers guest inquiries
  • Liaises with servers to communicate guest needs
  • Understands and communicates changes in the menu and dietary restrictions
  • Assists the chef in expediting food to the dining room
  • Keeps expediter station and kitchen stocked with necessary items
  • Maintains a clean, safe environment in the dining room and service stations
  • Efficiently resets tables to adhere to Regent Service Standards

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Perform all side work applicable to assigned station
  • Participate in Pre-Shift meetings and learn new menu items
  • Welcome guests and ensure responsive, professional, and gracious service
  • Describes dinner features and answers guest inquiries
  • Liaise with servers to communicate guest needs
  • Understand the order taken by the server and any changes in the menu, dietary restrictions, food allergies, etc.
  • Assist the Chef in expediting the food to the dining room
  • Aware of all upcoming orders and status of tables expecting food
  • Keep expediter station and kitchen stocked with necessary items
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment in the dining room and service stations
  • Efficiently reset tables to adhere to Regent Service Standards
  • Flexible schedule to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
