Job Summary

Fine wine. Delicious food. Bring beautiful spaces to life and watch your attention to detail delight guests. You are responsible for creating unmatched experiences by engaging guests, and delivering an unrivaled service experience. You will anticipate the needs of the service team, while keeping all necessary service ware stocked and polished. You are an integral point of communication between the back of house and front of house in relation to the flow of service. You are vital to creating a successful dining experience for each guest and a successful service with the front of house team.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist with setting tables, including arranging linens, silverware, glassware, and place settings.
  • Clear tables promptly and efficiently, removing used dishes and glassware.
  • Knowledge of proper markings for subsequent coursing, and communicating with service team timing of such.
  • Ensure the dining area is clean and tidy, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout service.
  • Assist with food service, such as running food, and pouring water.
  • Prepare and maintain the dining room for service, including stocking supplies and setting up tables.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude, interacting courteously with guests and staff.
  • Maintain constant communication with host regarding current and upcoming seating and guest needs.
  • Aid the bar with bussing and stocking as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized floor and server station.
  • Maintains current knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu changes and sold-out items.
  • Processes guest payments, using proper accounting and cash handling procedures.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and bar and waitstaff to ensure seamless service.
  • Uphold the high standards of Grounded Table for service quality and guest satisfaction.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills and positive attitude.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform essential functions on the computerized Point of Sale and reservation systems.
  • Working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures.
  • Working knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations.
  • Be a team player. Be flexible with duties and responsibilities.
  • Humility, patience, and resilience.

Experience and Requirements

  • Previous restaurant experience preferred
  • Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s) and Liquor Serving Permit(s)
