Server Assistant

About the role

The Server Assistant plays a key support role in the seamless execution of service, maintaining the flow and rhythm of the dining room. They assist with dining room setup, maintain cleanliness, manage water and beverage service, and support Captains with guest needs.

Responsibilities

• Aid in setting up the dining room before service, including linens, glassware, silverware, and tabletop details.
• Maintain the cleanliness of guest areas, including interior and exterior spaces.
• Promptly and discreetly refill water and beverages.
• Deliver and clear food courses in coordination with the Captain and kitchen, adhering to FORBES 5-star service standards.
• Accurately mark tables with appropriate flatware and glassware before each course.
• Keep service stations and sidework areas clean and organized throughout the shift.
• Reset and flip tables post-departure with attention to detail and speed.
• Support Captains with guest needs and respond quickly to requests during service.
• Break down and close the dining room post-service, including polishing, organizing, and restocking service tools, fans/heaters.

Qualifications

• Strong sense of urgency, organization, and situational awareness, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of proper table settings, course progression, and stemware.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive mindset to uphold Michelin-level dining and Forbes 5-star service standards.
• 3+ years experience in serving in casual, upscale restaurants OR 2+ years experience as a back waiter in a Forbes 5-star or Michelin restaurants.
• Full-time availability (30-35 hours per week), including weekend and holiday shifts.
• Valid Food Handler’s Card.
• Clear and calm verbal communication.
• Solution-oriented mindset and attention to detail.

• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Ability to work quickly in a high-paced, physically and mentally demanding environment.
• Compliance with all uniform and grooming standards.

Pay

$19.50 - $22.00 /hour plus tips per shift. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.

Schedule

Based at the JUSTIN Estate: 11680 Chimney Rock Road, Paso Robles, CA 93446. The work schedule is Thursday - Sunday (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM or closing).
