Server ($9.00 per hour plus tips/gratuity)

About the Role

Serve food and upsell drinks and restaurant specials in a professional manner. Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service by suggestively selling menu items, taking drink, appetizer, entrée, and dessert orders. Receive payment for services rendered and ensure guests are satisfied with their dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, introduce specials of the day, and explain the menu using concise and articulate language.
• Listen and respond to guest questions.
• Serve assigned tables as determined by management.
• Pick up and deliver orders on a tray (weighing up to 20 lbs) to guests in a timely manner.
• Ensure the accuracy of all orders and compliance with food and company standards.
• Check on tables throughout the guest's visit to assess satisfaction, offer refills, and clear miscellaneous items.
• Deliver checks promptly to ensure timely order preparation.
• Maintain knowledge of the restaurant's food and beverage preparation.
• Enter and complete customer orders using the computer system.
• Accept various forms of payment, make change, and process transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness of tables and workstations during and after shifts, including weekly maintenance.
• Comply with all health, safety, and state regulations for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Check guest identification to confirm legal drinking age; refuse service to underage guests.
• Function as a host when needed.
• Assist other servers by picking up food and drink orders and providing table support as necessary.

Requirements

• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts, use a calculator, and make change.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to engage with guests and team members in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
• Ability to learn and operate cash register software.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.

• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and hot liquids.
• Moderate noise level in the work environment.
