About the role
Welcome guests to create a favorable impression of the restaurant. Strives to ensure service is prompt and courteous, while meeting customer’s meal expectations. Escorts patrons to tables and provides menus. Books dining reservations and arranges parties or special services for diners.
Core Responsibilities
- Receives and records dining reservations via the telephone.
- Sets up dining and service areas.
- Politely requests guests to wait in waiting area if no table is available.
- Maintains neatness and cleanliness of stations and tables.
- Presents menus and makes recommendations, learning all menus and specials.
- Solves guests' concerns in a prompt manner.
Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED and 1+ years’ customer service experience in the hospitality industry, preferred.
- Strong time management skills.
- Customer service-focused, team player with a willingness to help other employees when needed.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekend and evening shifts.
- Able to work 6+ hour shifts with long periods of walking and standing.
- Able to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Able to be respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The majority of the time is spent in a hot environment.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Frequently required to bend, twist, walk, and stand for long periods of time; use hands to reach or feel, and talk or hear.
