About The Role
The Content Strategist is a vital, client-facing role designed to develop and execute tailored marketing strategies for enterprise clients. This position involves managing day-to-day deliverables, crafting comprehensive strategies, and maintaining strong communication channels with both clients and internal teams. The strategist is expected to possess a deep understanding of their service line, especially SEO and content marketing, and how these elements influence broader business objectives. Internally titled Account Strategist, Content & SEO, this role requires a proactive approach to strategy development, goal setting, project management, and relationship building. The Content Strategist plays a key role in ensuring the successful implementation of marketing campaigns that align with client goals, leveraging industry best practices, data analysis, and creative insights to maximize results. This position offers a proactive opportunity to build a talent pipeline for future hiring needs, contributing to the growth and success of Directive Consulting’s strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proven success in implementing SEO principles, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building
- Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing website traffic and SEO metrics using tools like Google Analytics
- Excellent communication skills, capable of managing client relationships and internal stakeholder interactions
- Proficiency with industry tools such as Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Google Analytics
- Exceptional organizational, project management, and time management skills
- Experience working within a digital marketing agency environment
- Experience with B2B technology and SaaS industries
- Enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO, and content strategies
- Ability to stay current with industry trends, including AI and automation advancements
- Established work authorization and residence in the applicable country (for global roles)
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement customized marketing strategies aligned with client goals and best practices
- Utilize data from Google Analytics, CRM, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and other sources to set measurable goals and optimize campaigns
- Collaborate closely with Associate Directors to review and approve strategic plans and goals
- Manage project workflows using Asana, delegating tasks to team members, clients, and ensuring timely completion
- Coordinate with content writers, designers, and other specialists to produce high-quality content campaigns on schedule
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and understanding their business needs
- Proactively communicate project timelines, deliverables, and performance updates to clients and internal leadership
- Report regularly on strategy progress, including bi-weekly client meetings, monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual reviews
- Identify opportunities for account growth, upselling, cross-selling, and referrals, fostering long-term client partnerships
- Stay informed on industry trends, especially in SEO, content marketing, AI, and automation, applying insights to client strategies
