About the role
The Sentinel program is seeking a Systems Safety Engineer to join the team in Roy, UT. The role involves activities including use case development, requirements definition/allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.
- Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large programs design.
- Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure they are properly represented in the model.
- Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.
- Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration).
- Contribute to System Safety analyses utilized in maturing weapons system design for safety and support flight test and flight worthiness of complex systems.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
- Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Must have 2 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, or 0 years of experience with Master's degree.
- Must have 2 years' experience with C/C++, Java, object oriented design, or similar experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills of the English language is desired.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university.
- Experience using MIL-STD-882E or similar processes for hardware and /or software design development.
- Experience executing developed processes in Engineering and Manufacturing Development Phase.
- Experience using DO-178 for design development.
- Experience developing in an Agile environment.
- Model Based Systems Engineering experience.
- Experience developing missile flight systems software.
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) / Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certificate.
- Weapon System experience (Minuteman III or similar military or industry experience).
