About the role
This role supports Production Operation Systems and Technology. The role serves as the technical SME for the division to support Manufacturing Engineering and related functions within digital tools such as SAP, CPLM, and SmartMES.
Responsibilities
- Supports the development and management of achievable production schedules for an entire factory servicing multiple businesses.
- Engages and collaborates with programs and functional organizations to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements.
- Develops cost/risk benefit summaries and recommendations for leadership.
- Utilizes process improvement methodology and software tools such as Earned Value and Milestone payments.
- Manages and tracks problems to ensure timely resolution.
- Works autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Documents and monitors manufacturing flows and their interface with shop floor and global supply chain.
Requirements
- 12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM); 10 years with a Master’s degree; 8 years with a PhD.
- An active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- 8+ years of experience using software for manufacturing (ERP, MES, PLM/PDM).
- Strong experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrates a high sense of urgency.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A flexible work schedule to support out-of-service system testing.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Motivated self-starter, detail and quality oriented, and able to work independently.
Qualifications
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
- SAP certifications.
- Understanding of MRP.
- Experience in the performance of system integration testing.
- Writing functional specifications.
Skills
- Strong foundation in Manufacturing Engineering fundamentals.
- Experience in MBOMs, OBOM, Work Instructions.
- Proficient in the principles of digital tools.
- Knowledge of manufacturing flows and their interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain.
- Experience with Project Management and manufacturing schedules.
- Software tools.
- Understanding of schedule waterfall builds with setbacks to independent demands.
- Utilizes process improvement methodology (e.g., value stream mapping, employee engagement techniques, flow reduction, etc.).
- Experience with cost management (Earned Value, Milestone payments).
- Experience with data analysis and/or data mining.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $169,000.00 - $253,600.00. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
Schedule
The standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
