Responsibilities
- Execute feasibility studies for new sensing solutions, carefully assessing potential opportunities and risks.
- Design experiments, collect and analyze real-world data to demonstrate suitability for use, robustness, and effectiveness in the intended application.
- Resolve complex engineering problems and collaborate with other engineers to integrate cutting-edge functionalities into innovative prototypes.
- Enhance existing development tests and explore new methods to drive continuous improvement.
- Thoroughly document test procedures, present results to the team, and make recommendations for next steps in the sensor design process.
Requirements
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in physics.
- Motivated and dynamic, enthusiastic about tackling open-ended problems that encompass multiple engineering disciplines.
- Possesses a passion for creating innovative devices and technologies, adaptable, eager to learn on the go, excels at solving complex problems, collaborates closely with others, and approaches design and engineering tasks with a creative mindset at all levels.
- Strong communication skills, including technical writing, must be present.
- Experience in designing experiments (DOE) and conducting data analysis is highly valued.
- The ability to utilize logical reasoning when evaluating and synthesizing information from various sources is important.
- Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-visibility environment with minimal supervision while functioning effectively as part of a team.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- 3 years + of experience in an engineering development environment.
- Demonstrated experience in building sensor prototypes, testing them in a lab environment, and successively adjusting the prototype design to meet design goals.
- LabView and analysis experience (Design of experiment) preferred.
- Programming and scripting (MATLAB or Python preferred).
- Knowledge of basic engineering materials (plastics and metals).
- Detail oriented and capable of handling multiple assignments at once.
- Curious, willing to learn new skills, and share knowledge.
