About the role
L3Harris is actively seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for our facility located in Waco, TX for an exempt direct hire opportunity. We are seeking a mission-focused ISSO to support the development, deployment, and execution of security controls and defensive measures that protect company technology, information systems, and system deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Support secure system operations and maintenance, assess and mitigate security threats and risks throughout the program lifecycle, and support system certification and accreditation planning, testing, and validation activities in coordination with government customers
- Execute first-level incident response actions, interpret and analyze security events and anomalies, and report findings in accordance with established directives
- Safeguard systems and national security information against unauthorized use, infiltration, exfiltration, modification, destruction, or disclosure
- Notify the ISSM of any changes that could affect the system's Authorization to Operate (ATO) and coordinate all hardware, software, and firmware changes with the ISSM prior to implementation
- Build Aircraft disk pack sets, along with keeping them maintained and updated, as necessary to support our test team and the Air Force as required
- Travel 25% of the time to support offsite test events
- Frequently support nights and/or weekends to augment SCIF manning for planned site power outages and/or network outages that will affect our security posture
- Analyze and/or administer security controls for information systems as part of the systems' Continuous Monitoring Plan
- Follow approved procedures for clearing, sanitizing and destroying hardware and media
- Implement, enforce, communicate and develop security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications
- Provide details and artifacts for developing Information System Security (ISS) Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation (SSP, SAR, RAR, SAP, SCTM, POA&M, etc.) to support the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) of assigned systems
- Perform periodic hardware/software inventories to maintain strict control over assigned assets
- Identify system security controls shortcomings and annotate POA&M entries for deficient items, playing a vital role with remediating control deficiencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant systems security experience, OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related systems security experience, OR in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related systems security experience
- Active TS with SCI eligibility security clearance
- Minimum Security+ certification (or equivalent) required
- Applicants who accept a conditional offer of employment may be subject to government security investigation(s) and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Preferred skills
- Experience with various information system security assessment/hardening tools - SCAP Compliance Checker, ACAS, Nessus
- Prior Xacta 360 / Xacta.io training, knowledge, and relevant experience
- Working knowledge of WAN/LANs, to include routers, switches, and firewalls
- Self-starter who works well with others in support of achieving team goals
Schedule
9/80 Regular - Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off. On-site position located in Waco, TX.
