Senior WordPress Engineer – Marketing Platforms

About the role

We are seeking a Senior WordPress Engineer to help evolve Bloomberg’s marketing web platform and digital experiences.

This role requires a combination of strong technical expertise, product thinking, and an understanding of how websites support business and marketing objectives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience developing and maintaining WordPress applications and websites
• Strong experience with Gutenberg block development and React
• Proficiency with PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including design, product, and marketing stakeholders
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Qualifications

• Familiarity with ReactJS or other modern frontend frameworks
• Experience with analytics, experimentation, and marketing technologies such as GA4 and Optimizely
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern development workflows
• Demonstrated ownership of business-critical web products and the ability to drive initiatives from concept to delivery

Skills

• Design and build scalable WordPress solutions
• Develop reusable Gutenberg components and editor experiences using React and modern JavaScript/Typescript
• Partner with design and marketing teams to translate requirements into responsive, accessible, and high-performing web experiences
• Improve website performance, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, and technical SEO
• Contribute to platform architecture, development standards, testing, and deployment practices
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve reliability and maintainability across the platform
