Senior WordPress Engineer – Marketing Platforms
About the role
We are seeking a Senior WordPress Engineer to help evolve Bloomberg’s marketing web platform and digital experiences.
This role requires a combination of strong technical expertise, product thinking, and an understanding of how websites support business and marketing objectives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience developing and maintaining WordPress applications and websites
- Strong experience with Gutenberg block development and React
- Proficiency with PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including design, product, and marketing stakeholders
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Qualifications
- Familiarity with ReactJS or other modern frontend frameworks
- Experience with analytics, experimentation, and marketing technologies such as GA4 and Optimizely
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern development workflows
- Demonstrated ownership of business-critical web products and the ability to drive initiatives from concept to delivery
Skills
- Design and build scalable WordPress solutions
- Develop reusable Gutenberg components and editor experiences using React and modern JavaScript/Typescript
- Partner with design and marketing teams to translate requirements into responsive, accessible, and high-performing web experiences
- Improve website performance, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, and technical SEO
- Contribute to platform architecture, development standards, testing, and deployment practices
- Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve reliability and maintainability across the platform
