About the role
As a Senior Wind Turbine Controls Engineer, you will develop controls software that interfaces sensors and auxiliary systems to the rest of the control system. You will drive cross-functional alignment and own complex technical problems from ideation to fleet-wide deployment, ensuring our wind turbine control systems remain at the forefront of the industry in performance, reliability, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design lifecycle for major control software features, ensuring architectural integrity and alignment with long-term platform strategy.
- Lead the investigation of complex fleet-wide technical issues; perform root cause analysis and implement robust, scalable software solutions.
- Define system-level requirements for complex controls features.
- Partner with cross-functional global teams (Systems, Loads, Electrical, and Field Services) to advocate for and execute high-impact controls improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls Engineering or similar discipline.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in controls engineering, with a strong background in wind turbine control system design or similar complex systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Matlab/Simulink and model-based design principles.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership or senior technical capacity, managing complex projects with high levels of autonomy.
Qualifications
- Master or PhD in Engineering (Controls, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science).
- Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges.
- Deep domain expertise in wind turbine dynamics, aerodynamics, or power conversion controls.
- Ability to translate high-level business goals into specific, actionable engineering requirements for a global team.
- Expertise with GE internal tools (WorkstationsST, ToolboxST, M6e) and industry-standard version control and configuration management tools.

Pay
For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
