About the role
The Senior Welding & Materials Engineer is responsible for overseeing welding processes and materials within the Quality Division. This position requires a deep understanding of welding techniques and material science.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and improve welding processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Develop and implement new welding procedures and materials based on project needs and technological advancements.
- Conduct quality inspections and ensure adherence to inspection protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex engineering issues and optimize production efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in welding and materials engineering.
- Proven track record of successful implementation of advanced welding technologies.
- Experience in managing welding projects from conception to completion.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex engineering problems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in welding codes and standards such as AWS, ASME, and API.
- Knowledge of material properties and selection criteria.
- Experience with welding process simulation software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
