Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer

About the role

Arcadis is searching for a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience to join our team. This hybrid role is based out of our Indianapolis location.

Responsibilities

• Utilize expertise and technical knowledge of water/wastewater evaluations, design & construction to serve as a Lead Technical Designer, Task Manager and/or Project Manager on local projects.
• Lead the successful execution and delivery of projects, manage staff, work directly with clients, and participate in business development activities.
• Develop municipal water/wastewater projects, lead the successful execution and delivery of those projects, and develop the team’s overall capabilities.
• Manage projects from planning to design and construction of water/wastewater treatment plants/facilities, pump stations, stormwater systems, and distribution/collection systems, as well as creating construction documents/specifications and providing engineering services during construction.
• Develop project scope, budgets, and delivery schedules for each assignment, and ensure tasks/projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
• Participate in industry conferences/associations at the local, state, and/or national level via committee memberships, presentations, and/or leadership roles.
• Develop small to large design projects from inception to completion.
• Prepare construction packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of water wastewater systems for clients.
• Create and manage cost estimates and project schedules.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations & analysis and utilize design software to solve complex issues.
• Supervise and support the work of others and mentor junior level engineer & design/drafting technical staff.
• Maintain Arcadis’ standards and specifications for municipal water/wastewater design & construction projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
• 10 years of progressively responsible experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer.

• Client relationship skills: including preparation and development of proposals and client management experience with a successful record of accomplishment, delivering a variety of engineering projects that meet or exceed the expectations of the client.
• Ability to travel 10% - 20%.
• Experience in water/wastewater plant/facility design and construction administration/oversight projects.
• Experience preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
