What You Will Do
- Aid in the preparation of hydrologic and hydraulic studies to support floodplain management.
- Conduct model reviews for technical completeness and adherence to engineering and local, state, and/or federal standards and regulations.
- Review floodplain and floodway mapping in support of FEMA LOMC applications, including technical review of model data, mapping limits, data tables, etc.
- Review GIS data in support of H&H analyses and mapping.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and review comments.
- Frequent coordination with team members and clients.
- Develop project proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates.
- Manage Federal Civil / Stormwater Projects.
What You Will Need
- 10+ years of targeted experience in Water Resources Project Delivery, overseeing mid-to-large scale Federal projects, with an emphasis on Water Resources.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state of Florida.
- Technical experience with ICPR4 (StormWise).
- Experience with surface water modeling and floodplain mapping.
- Proficiency with ArcGIS, StormWise, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Hands-on experience working government agencies at the local and state levels to meet water management goals.
- Hands-on experience in the design of stormwater infrastructure which may involve overseeing a combination of hydrology, hydraulics, and water quality.
- Possess a thorough understanding of project planning, design, and how to strategize the execution phase of the process.
- Develop pursuits, write proposals, establish and maintain new and existing client base.
- Maintain a positive representation for Halff at Professional/Business development functions in support of promoting the Halff brand and winning additional work for growth and expansion in Central Florida.
- Exceptional candor, collaborative team player, integral with a win-win mentality, and focus on achieving successful outcomes.
- Robust technical writing and communication skills.
- Strong project management experience with stormwater projects for municipal clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification or ability to obtain CFM certification within 1-year.
- Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and other specialized H&H software.
- Knowledge of FEMA modeling and mapping criteria, standards, and processes.
- Experience with FEMA map revisions (LOMR, CLOMR, PMR’s), including floodway analyses.
- Experience with managing a team to drive success.
