The Opportunity

RS&H is currently seeking a senior-level Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Orlando, FL! This position will have the ability to work a hybrid schedule of in-office and remote.

About the role

Serve an integral role in the firm by serving as a team expert and/or project lead; prepare project specifications and complete project documents, analysis, and reports; analyze and interpret data; perform analyses of design, planning, and impact studies, as well as cost analyses, design requirements, site selection, and limited design layouts; design complete projects, systems, components, and/or processes; prepare project documents, engineering analysis, and reports; perform quality control reviews and ensure achievement of key milestones; and perform field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare project specifications and complete project documents, analysis, and reports.
  • Analyze and interpret data.
  • Perform analyses of design, planning, and impact studies, as well as cost analyses, design requirements, site selection, and limited design layouts.
  • Design complete projects, systems, components, and/or processes.
  • Prepare project documents, engineering analysis, and reports.
  • Perform quality control reviews and ensure achievement of key milestones.
  • Perform field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and assign tasks to junior and support staff for project duration.
  • Manage discipline and small multidisciplinary teams to ensure company and project contractual compliance.
  • Manage a small team of direct reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Professional engineer in good standing.
  • Knowledgeable of applicable federal, state and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Proficient in production software and construction document production.
  • Proven ability to successfully address challenging or potentially controversial issues in a sound professional and business-like manner.
  • Experience working on parts of major projects or multiple moderate-size projects, providing technical guidance to junior-level staff, including reviewing others' work for technical accuracy, and participating in the design and implementation of new services, processes, standards, and/or operational plans that had great impact on the achievement of functional results.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Must have a degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Must have minimum 10 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be a professional engineer in good standing.

Skills

  • Ability to work on parts of major projects or multiple moderate-size projects.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance to junior-level staff.
  • Ability to participate in the design and implementation of new services, processes, standards, and/or operational plans.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other key stakeholders.
