Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of a professional engineer, design various project elements including drainage conveyance systems, stormwater management BMPs, hydrologic and hydraulic design for bridges and culverts, and other related elements.
- Perform hydrologic, hydraulic and drainage design calculations.
- Prepare/assist with 3D design models in Civil 3D, Microstation Inroads and Openroads software.
- Draft contract plans and details for various project phases including preliminary and final designs.
- Prepare quantity calculations, cost estimates and supplemental specifications.
- Perform site visits to support design efforts.
- Preparation of design and compliance reports in support of environmental permit applications.
- Assist with preparation of permits to Federal, State, County, and local agencies, including but not limited to FEMA, NJDEP, NJ Pinelands Commission, and County Soil Conservation Districts.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies and prepare meeting minutes.
- Work within a team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other related Engineering discipline
- 5-8 years of related experience
- Professional Engineering license, preferred
Skills
- Proficiency with various hydrologic, hydraulic and drainage design softwares, including but limited to HydroCAD, Hydraflow Hydrographs, Hydraflow Storm Sewers, Bentley Pondpack, EPA SWMM, HEC-RAS, HY-8, etc.
- Familiarity with NJTA and NJDOT procedures and design standards
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
- Ability to work within a team and independently
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills are required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
