Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a professional engineer, design various project elements including drainage conveyance systems, stormwater management BMPs, hydrologic and hydraulic design for bridges and culverts, and other related elements.
  • Perform hydrologic, hydraulic and drainage design calculations.
  • Prepare/assist with 3D design models in Civil 3D, Microstation Inroads and Openroads software.
  • Draft contract plans and details for various project phases including preliminary and final designs.
  • Prepare quantity calculations, cost estimates and supplemental specifications.
  • Perform site visits to support design efforts.
  • Preparation of design and compliance reports in support of environmental permit applications.
  • Assist with preparation of permits to Federal, State, County, and local agencies, including but not limited to FEMA, NJDEP, NJ Pinelands Commission, and County Soil Conservation Districts.
  • Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Work within a team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other related Engineering discipline
  • 5-8 years of related experience
  • Professional Engineering license, preferred

Skills

  • Proficiency with various hydrologic, hydraulic and drainage design softwares, including but limited to HydroCAD, Hydraflow Hydrographs, Hydraflow Storm Sewers, Bentley Pondpack, EPA SWMM, HEC-RAS, HY-8, etc.
  • Familiarity with NJTA and NJDOT procedures and design standards
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work within a team and independently
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills are required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
