Responsibilities
- Leading and delivering planning, design, and construction-phase services for municipal water infrastructure projects, with emphasis on water distribution modeling and water treatment plant design
- Serving as a technical lead and project manager on multi-disciplinary water projects of moderate to high complexity
- Acting as a Doer/Seller, supporting business development through:
- Client relationship management
- Opportunity identification and pursuit strategy
- Proposal preparation and technical interviews
- Performing and overseeing hydraulic and water quality modeling for distribution systems and treatment processes
- Leading the development and review of:
- Technical memoranda and reports
- Design drawings and specifications
- Basis of design documents
- Engineer’s opinions of probable construction cost
- Providing technical oversight for process design including conventional and advanced water treatment technologies
- Reviewing and approving engineering calculations and model results prepared by junior staff
- Coeordinating with internal disciplines, subconsultants, utilities, and regulatory agencies
- Mentoring and developing junior and mid-level engineers
- Supporting field investigations, condition assessments, and data collection efforts
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering (M.S. preferred)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE); ability to obtain Louisiana PE if not currently licensed
- 10+ years of progressive experience in municipal water engineering
- Demonstrated expertise in:
- Water distribution system modeling
- Water treatment plant planning and design
- Strong experience delivering projects through planning, design, and construction
- Proven Doer/Seller capability with experience supporting or leading:
- Client engagement
- Proposal development
- Business development activities
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing presentations
- Proficiency with industry-standard software such as:
- WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, InfoWater
- AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation
- Excel-based engineering tools
- Knowledge of Gulf Coast or Southeast U.S. utility clients and regulatory environments is a plus
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in municipal water engineering
- Ability to obtain Louisiana Professional Engineer (PE) license if not currently licensed
- Advanced degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering preferred
- Strong experience in water distribution system modeling and water treatment plant design
- Proven track record in business development and proposal preparation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including client-facing presentations
- Proficiency with industry-standard software such as WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, InfoWater, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Excel-based engineering tools
- Knowledge of Gulf Coast or Southeast U.S. utility clients and regulatory environments
