Supervisory Controls
The Supervisor assigns work in terms of general instructions. Completed work is reviewed for accuracy as well as the nature and propriety of the final results.
Guidelines
Guidelines include City and departmental policies and procedures, standard operating procedures and EPD regulations, state and federal laws, CMMS program and O & M manual.
Complexity
The work consists of a variety of administrative and technical duties related to replacing, repairing, and maintaining equipment in water filter plants.
Scope and Effect
The purpose of this position is to maintain water production facilities, storage tanks, pumping stations and related equipment.
Physical Demands
- Sitting, standing, bending, crouching or stooping
- Occasionally lifting light or heavy objects
- Climbing ladders
- Entering confined spaces
- Using tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
Work Environment
- Exposure to noise, dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, irritating chemicals, and occasional inclement weather
- Use of protective devices such as gloves, masks, goggles and protective clothing
