About the role

This position is responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining virtualization systems, including security, storage, networking, monitoring, and troubleshooting all virtual systems.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements VMware-based and other virtualization platform environments, ensuring industry best practices are followed.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert in all deployed virtual environments and serves as the escalation point for support issues in the enterprise environment.
  • Defines and continuously improves processes and procedures to support a fully managed virtual environment, automating processes whenever possible.
  • Ensures full use and deployment of all beneficial technologies in the virtualization stack, including hyper-converged systems, software-defined networking, storage integrations, cloud solutions, and management options.
  • Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the design and operational support of VMware vSphere environments using VMware Aria Suite (formerly vRealize) or VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), including hands-on administration of host servers, storage (SAN/vSAN), and network security/firewalls (NSX).
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience implementing and maintaining Linux and Microsoft server operating systems.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience providing virtualization platform administration and related tools such as NSX, Aria, vRA, vSAN, and vSphere.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience providing advanced scripting.

Qualifications

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar discipline.

Skills

  • Proficiency in TCP/IP networking and protocols (TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DBS, and NTP).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and transfer knowledge as a mentor and technical expert.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new products, technologies, and procedural changes.
  • Ability to support critical systems after hours, nights, and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to conceptualize a wide range of enterprise administrative issues.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with attention to detail.

Pay

Pay Range: $100,284.00 - $141,650.25 Annual
