About the Role

The Senior Vice President, Senior Relationship Manager will oversee all aspects of institutional client management for a book of approximately 30 strategic relationships, including public pension funds, endowments, foundations, corporate DB/DC, and other structures. This role serves as the primary day-to-day liaison to investment management, operations, reporting, marketing, legal, and other functions that contribute to the client journey.

Responsibilities

  • Develop annual business reviews and participate in regular territory sessions.
  • Build strategic and tactical engagement plans for each client, including investment meetings, cross-sells, executive introductions, and events.
  • Serve as the primary contact and manage all client deliverables.
  • Facilitate portfolio reviews and related meetings.
  • Work closely with Institutional Sales and Consultant Relations teams to optimize Cohen & Steers' brand, presence, and client relationships.
  • Obtain technical proficiency in CNS Strategies and demonstrate strong market acumen to engage clients directly.
  • Directly manage associate(s) and indirectly oversee other teammates on technical aspects, career development, presentation skills, communication, and client engagement.
  • Achieve and exceed KPIs such as retention rates, activity levels, meetings, and investment team engagements.
  • Develop retention and growth plans identifying key strategic initiatives, issues, actions, and opportunities for each client.
  • Maintain all client information and activities in Salesforce (CRM system).
  • Collaborate with Channel Marketing, Product, Product Marketing, Legal, and other internal resources to deliver firm-wide support to institutional clients.
  • Partner with Sales professionals to identify, introduce, network, and develop new business through existing relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
  • MBA or advanced certifications (CFA, CAIA) preferred.
  • 10+ years of related experience in institutional relationship management, sales, consultant relations, or a hybrid role.
  • Series 6 or 7 and Series 63 licenses (or obtain by 6-month anniversary).
  • Executive presence and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Proven ability as a strong individual contributor and effective team player.
  • Financial services industry experience and strong investment acumen.
  • Willingness to travel regularly (estimated 5 days/month, primarily in the eastern US/Canada).

  • Compliance with the firm’s hybrid work policy, requiring four days per week in the New York City office and one remote workday.
