About The Position

Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Operations & Supply Chain, the Senior Vice President of Procurement will provide strategic and operational leadership for the company's centralized Procurement, Sourcing, Inventory Planning, and Replenishment functions. This executive will play a critical role in transforming the organization's procurement capabilities by optimizing supplier relationships, consolidating a supplier network of more than 1,200 vendors, and developing best-in-class sourcing strategies that improve profitability while supporting continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the company's long-term growth objectives.

  • Lead enterprise-wide supplier consolidation initiatives, reducing a supplier base of more than 1,200 vendors while improving purchasing leverage and operational efficiency.

  • Drive significant cost reduction initiatives across approximately $700 million in annual direct and indirect spend, identifying and executing opportunities to generate $15–25 million in annual savings.

  • Oversee centralized sourcing, inventory planning, replenishment, and tactical procurement functions.

  • Lead contract negotiations and strategic supplier partnerships across direct materials, MRO, equipment, supplies, and services.

  • Build scalable procurement processes utilizing advanced analytics, automation, reporting, and technology-driven decision making.

  • Develop company-wide procurement and supply chain KPIs to improve visibility, accountability, and operational performance.

  • Optimize inventory planning strategies to balance customer service, working capital, and inventory investment.

  • Lead procurement integration efforts for acquisitions while capturing sourcing and operational synergies.

  • Recruit, mentor, develop, and elevate a high-performing procurement organization capable of supporting future growth.

  • Partner closely with Finance, Operations, Commercial, Human Resources, and executive leadership to support enterprise initiatives.

  • Maintain deep knowledge of market trends, pricing, supply chain risks, and emerging technologies.

Critical Areas of Focus

  • Vendor Consolidation: Streamline and optimize a supplier base of more than 1,200 vendors to improve leverage and operational efficiency.

  • Cost Optimization: Deliver substantial savings across approximately $700 million in annual spend through strategic sourcing and contract negotiations.

  • Organizational Development: Continue building a world-class centralized procurement organization by refining processes, upgrading talent, and implementing best practices.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, and distribution.

  • Demonstrated responsibility for annual purchasing volumes exceeding $500 million.

  • Proven success leading enterprise procurement transformation initiatives.

  • Extensive experience negotiating strategic supplier agreements and driving measurable cost reductions.

  • Experience leading centralized procurement organizations within complex, multi-location businesses.

  • Strong background managing both direct materials and indirect procurement.

  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and procurement integration initiatives is highly desirable.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Preferred degree concentration in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, Analytics, or a related discipline.

  • Executive-level leadership with a collaborative, hands-on management style.

  • Proven ability to build, develop, and retain high-performing procurement teams.

  • Exceptional analytical and financial acumen with a data-driven approach to decision making.

  • Strong strategic thinking balanced with operational execution.

  • Outstanding negotiation and relationship management skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, including the ability to simplify complex data for executive audiences.

  • Experience driving organizational change and continuous process improvement.

  • High integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence across multiple operating companies and functional teams.
