Weber Shandwick is seeking a Senior Vice President, Earned Media to join our West Technology practice in San Francisco.

About the Role

The ideal candidate is a strategic counselor who will set and execute a modern integrated media strategy for key technology clients. This leader will guide clients through a rapidly evolving media landscape where news, influence, and reputation are shaped by a complex and dynamic environment. The role requires expertise in AI, computing, and enterprise technology, along with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives at the intersection of business, technology, and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Counsel clients on integrated media strategies that extend beyond traditional media relations to include social media, influencer engagement, owned content, AI-powered search, and targeted paid amplification.
  • Lead integrated strategies for new business pitches.
  • Develop influential points of view, strategic solutions, and thought leadership to help clients navigate complexity and break through in the media landscape.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, inclusivity, and high performance to develop the next generation of earned media talent.
  • Build and leverage a robust network of media relationships to drive standout client outcomes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience, with agency experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in the technology sector, including corporate and brand reputation management, executive visibility, crisis communications, and proactive media relations.
  • Experience leading projects from start to finish, working with integrated teams across various disciplines.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Pay

$160,000–$230,000

Schedule

Minimum of three days per week in the office, with potential for increased in-office requirements over time.
