Senior Vice President, Corporate Tax

About the role

Works with senior management to ensure that the appropriate corporate tax policies, methods, standards, processes, reporting, and training are developed, applied, and understood by impacted stakeholders. Represents Corporate Tax in federal and state audit proceedings, collaborates with tax, legal counsel, and external accounting firms to gather facts and develop strategies ensuring compliance with SOX procedures. Assembles, maintains, and analyzes domestic and international tax information used in the preparation of various tax returns and quarterly estimated tax payments. Performs complex research and analysis of tax law, regulations, and cases to provide senior management with recommendations and opinions by applying tax concepts.

This role is located in Jersey City, NJ, with an in-office requirement of four days per week.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• 10-12 years of total work experience is required.
• Experience in tax compliance or accounting is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of corporate tax processes and in-depth knowledge of tax support requirements within a particular business or business partner area.

Responsibilities

• Oversees, advises, and guides less experienced Corporate Tax roles and may direct their work.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package. The expected base salary for this position may vary depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is part of a total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award.
