- Lead and execute EV beta/prototype vehicle modifications with minimal direction in fast-changing development environments.
- Interpret and apply wiring schematics, pinouts, connector views, and routing documentation to on-vehicle implementation.
- Produce vehicle harnesses and sub-harnesses; modify and repair harnessing (splicing, de-pin/re-pin, connector repair, shielding/grounding, strain relief, looming, labeling).
- Modify electrical components and wiring to support prototype changes, packaging constraints, and test needs.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues using standard diagnostic methods/tools; document findings and corrective actions.
- Support electrified vehicle systems where applicable; follow high-voltage safety practices, PPE requirements, and site procedures (within training/authorization limits).
- Perform chassis/mechanical modifications (mounting solutions, routing changes, fit/finish adjustments, serviceability improvements).
- Complete minor fabrication work as needed (e.g., bracketry, drilling/cutting, fastening, rivnuts/riveting, trim/panel rework).
- Ensure vehicles are returned in a safe, functional, and test-ready condition after work completion (secure fasteners, correct routing, verified electrical integrity).
- Perform post-work quality/safety checks (connector engagement, harness retention, abrasion/heat protection, basic functional verification).
- Identify unsafe conditions or quality risks; stop work and escalate concerns as required.
- Partner with engineers to clarify requirements, provide hands-on feedback, and recommend practical build solutions.
- Document “as-built” status, deviations, and lessons learned; contribute to work instructions, checklists, and standard work.
- Train and mentor technicians/teams on procedures, wiring best practices, safety expectations, and workmanship standards.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas (5S mindset), including tool control and housekeeping; follow all safety/PPE requirements.
