Aurora is seeking a vehicle reliability technician to join our team in Dallas-Fort Worth. This role supports the third shift of Vehicle Operations (6 PM - 4 AM CST).
About the Role
You will work closely with site reliability engineers, vehicle service technicians, and vehicle operators to troubleshoot, diagnose, and track issues with the autonomous vehicle fleet.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to vehicles encountering software or hardware issues.
- Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for common software and hardware faults across multiple platforms.
- Collaborate with engineers, operations, and product teams to improve product performance, reduce faults, and enhance test efficiency.
- Triage vehicle issues, providing data, analysis, and support to engineering teams to determine root causes and corrective actions.
- Create runbooks to facilitate standard and accelerated troubleshooting.
- Perform sensor calibrations, fleet upgrades, and new platform bring-up.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with the Linux operating system in a support and troubleshooting capacity.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Detail-oriented self-starter with strong learning and independent work capabilities.
- Strong communication skills, able to collaborate across different teams, offices, and time zones.
- Excellent documentation skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related STEM field.
- Previous automotive or AV technical experience.
- Deep understanding of computer networking systems.
- Programming skills (e.g., Python, Go, C++, SQL).
Benefits
The base hourly wage range for this position is $41.75 - $66.75 per hour. Aurora offers an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits. The company operates in a hybrid work environment with in-office requirements.
